The primary materials used are Australian hardwoods. Timber for my solid wood furniture is hand selected and a great deal of time is spent ensuring the qualities of the specific pieces of wood are incorporated into the design of the piece. I prefer to use recycled or reclaimed timber whenever possible, for environmental reasons. Older timbers are also often more stable and display richer colours.

Wood is an amazing material - it reflects and absorbs light in a unique way. It moves constantly, through expansion and contraction. Grain patterns are complex and completely unique. They are a palpable document that traces the history of the tree. Australian hardwoods are amongst the strongest and most durable in the world. They display a huge range of colours and grain patterns and are admired throughout the world. They are also highly sought after for use in solid wood furniture.
