Construction methods are all based on traditional
joinery. My wood furniture is handmade and built to last for
generations. Dovetails, mortice and tenons, finger joints
and lap joints are all used to ensure that each piece of furniture
is of heirloom quality. The precision and pattern of traditional
joinery in wood furniture adds a richness to the piece.
The joinery, like all of the other aspects
of the furniture, is always integral to the overall design
of the piece and is carefully considered during the design
phase. While the joinery is traditional in a historic sense,
graphically it can be highly contemporary when used as a design
element. While fundamentally a functional element, it is also
highly decorative.
